Day 01 : Hyderabad
Arrive Hyderabad and transfer to a hotel. Hyderbad
is famous for it's pearls, precious stones, silver filigree work, Warangal and
Eluru carpets. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 02 : Hyderabad
A
full day sightseeing trip visiting the Charminar, Salar Jung Museum, and the Mecca
Masjid. You also take an excursion to the Qutub Shahi Tombs and Golconda - the
site of a strategic fort dating back to the 13th century, once famed for it's
diamond mines (from which the famous Kohinoor diamond of the British crown was
mined). Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 03 : Hyderabad - Bijapur
(via Gulbarga with lunch at Gulbarga) On arrival at Bijapur check in at a
hotel. Afternoon visit the Gol Gumbaz whose dome is the second largest in the
world. An acoustical phenomenon has resulted in a whisper into the dome on one
side being magnifies 12 times on the other. Evening return to the Hotel.
Day 04 : Bijapur - Badami
After breakfast proceed to Badami. On arrival
check in at a Hotel. Afternoon visit the 6th & 7th Century cave temples and
the Badami Fort which houses the famous Malegati Shivalaya Temple. Evening return
to the Hotel.
Day 05 : Pattadakal - Hospet
After an early
breakfast proceed to Hospet, enroute visiting Pattadakal. Pattadakal was known
even in the 1st century A.D. When Ptolemy referred to it as Petrigal. Pattadakal
is unique in having temple Architecture of the northern Nagara and Southern Dravida
styles. On arrival in Hospet, check in at a Hotel.
Day 06 : Hospet
- Hampi
Morning proceed to Hampi. The Vijaynagar Empire of medieval India
spread from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal and covered all of peninsular
India. The greatest of it's rulers, Krishnadevaraya, has few equal in performing
arts, and the strength and power of the ruined monuments at Hampi are evidence.
Evening return to the Hotel at Hospet.
Day 07 : Hospet - Hassan
After a leisurely breakfast, proceed by surface to reach Hassan in time for
lunch. On arrival check in at a Hotel. Afternoon visit Belur & Halebid. Evening
return to Hassan.
Day 08 : Hassan - Mysore
Morning proceed
to Mysore, enroute visiting Shravanabelagola where the Jain Saint Gomateshwara
was immortalised in a 17 meter high statue. On arrival at Mysore, check in at
a hotel.
Day 09 : Mysore
Full day sightseeing of Mysore. Overnight
at the Hotel.
Day 10 : Mysore - Bangalore
Morning proceed
to Bangalore. Once home to Winston Churchill, Bangalore retains a distinct British
flavour which, combined with local customs and architecture, presents a delightful
face to the outside world. After lunch, connect flight to your onward destination.
